Forecourt Cleaning

A forecourt is the first thing customers see — and at petrol stations, motor dealerships, fast-food drive-thrus and retail destinations, it's also where they form their first impression of the business. A grimy, fuel-stained, gum-littered forecourt undermines everything else. A clean, sharp forecourt does the opposite. Forecourts are demanding — fuel resistance, oil contamination, heavy traffic, customer footfall, signage and infrastructure all need different treatment. Cleaning has to be done out of hours, with proper drainage protection, and to schedules that work around peak trading. We handle all of it.

Petrol station considerations

Petrol forecourts have specific requirements. The surface is typically heavily contaminated with fuel residue and oil, which needs proper degreasing. The drainage is usually connected to fuel-spill interception systems that mustn't be overloaded with cleaning chemistry. Pump islands, canopies and shop frontages all need different approaches. Vehicle access has to be coordinated with site management to avoid disrupting trading.

We work with petrol station operators across the North East on both ad-hoc cleans and scheduled maintenance. We use forecourt-specific degreasers approved for use near fuel infrastructure, control rinse water carefully, and coordinate timing around tanker deliveries and peak trading hours.

Drive-thru and fast food forecourts

Drive-thrus pick up an enormous amount of dropped food, drink spills, packaging litter, and grease from kitchen extracts. The lane itself, the order point, and the collection window all need different treatment. We typically work overnight, when the lane can be closed without affecting customer service. Kitchen extract grease is a particularly common challenge — we use food-grade degreasers that lift fat without leaving slippery residue.

Maintenance schedules

Most forecourt customers want recurring maintenance rather than one-off blitzes. Common schedules:

• Weekly — high-traffic petrol forecourts and busy drive-thrus
• Fortnightly — most retail forecourts
• Monthly — office, hotel and lower-traffic sites
• Quarterly — industrial and trade counter sites

Maintenance pricing is set per visit on contract; consolidated invoicing simplifies admin. Multi-site portfolios get single point-of-contact management.

Health, safety and environment

Forecourt cleaning means working alongside live vehicle traffic, fuel infrastructure, and public footfall. Every job has site-specific RAMS, hazard signage, cordoned working areas, and trained operatives. We hold £5m public liability and our team is briefed for forecourt-specific risks before every visit.
