Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most often. Can't find what you're looking for? Drop us a message.

How much does pressure washing cost?

Cost depends on the job β€” a small patio is very different from a full-house exterior. We give a fixed written price for every job after a free assessment (in person or from photos by email). There are no hidden extras and no surprises on the day.

Do you give free quotes?

Yes β€” every quote is free and there is no obligation to proceed. We don't use high-pressure sales tactics; we send you a price and you let us know either way when you're ready.

How long will the result last?

It depends on the surface and the location. Driveways and patios typically stay clean for two to three years. Soft-washed roofs can stay clean for three to five years. Heavily shaded surfaces and surfaces under trees need cleaning more often.

Will pressure washing damage my property?

Not when done properly. The skill is matching the pressure, the chemistry and the technique to the surface. We test on hidden patches before committing, and we use soft-wash methods for delicate surfaces like render and roof tiles.

Do you supply your own water?

We normally connect to your outside tap, which is the easiest setup. If your property doesn't have an outside tap, we can bring our own water bowser at no extra charge.

Do I need to be home?

Usually not β€” provided we have access to the area we're cleaning and an outside tap, you can leave us to it. We always send a finished-job photo and ring you the same day.

Are you insured?

Yes β€” Β£5m public liability and Β£10m employers' liability. Certificates available on request.

How long does a typical job take?

A semi-detached driveway is 3–4 hours. A standard patio is 2–4 hours. A whole-house soft wash including roof, render and uPVC is typically a full day. We give time estimates at the quote stage.

Do you work in the rain?

Light rain doesn't affect pressure washing of driveways and patios β€” the surface is wet anyway. Heavy rain or storms we postpone for safety. Soft-washing of roofs and render needs dry weather to work properly.

What payment methods do you accept?

Bank transfer is most common. We also accept card payments on site, cash, and cheque. We invoice on completion of work β€” payment terms are clear at quote stage.

Do you remove old sealer or paint from driveways?

Yes β€” heavy-duty stripping is a separate process but we can quote for it. Old, failing sealer often needs to come off before a fresh seal is applied.

Can you reseal my driveway after cleaning?

Yes β€” sealing block paving and pattern-imprinted concrete is a popular add-on. We seal a separate dry day after the clean.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes β€” about 30% of our work is commercial. We provide RAMS, COSHH information and insurance certificates as standard.

Do you cover my area?

We cover the whole North East of England β€” Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Northumberland and Teesside. See our areas page or just call us to check.

Will the chemicals harm my plants?

Not when applied properly. We rinse plants before and after biocide work. The biocides we use break down in hours and we've never had a plant damage claim.

Can you fix tiger striping on my driveway?

Yes β€” tiger striping (uneven bands) from a previous bad clean can be corrected with a proper rotary surface clean.

How quickly can you start?

Lead time varies with the season β€” busiest in spring/summer. We typically can start within 1–3 weeks of accepting a quote.

Will my driveway be slippery after cleaning?

It will be wet and slightly slippery for an hour or two until it dries. Once dry, a properly cleaned driveway has more grip than a moss-covered one.
