The detergent matters as much as the pressure. We use a wide range of professional cleaning products, each matched to the substrate and the type of contamination. Choosing the right one is the difference between a deep, lasting clean and a wash that looks good for a fortnight.
Biocides for organic growth. Sodium hypochlorite-based biocides kill algae, moss and lichen at the root. Used at correct dilution they're safe for masonry, render, roofs, paving and most surfaces, with controlled rinsing of plants. The active continues to work for days after application.
Degreasers for oil and grease. Alkaline degreasers lift oil from concrete, brickwork and tarmac. Specialist citrus-based products handle delicate surfaces.
Acid cleaners for mineral deposits. Phosphoric and oxalic acid cleaners lift efflorescence, lime scale and rust without damaging properly fired brick. Limestone and other calcareous stones need careful handling — we use buffered or alternative products.
Specialist black-spot removers. For Indian sandstone and similar porous stone, we use specific products that target the lichen responsible for stubborn black spots.
Soft-wash chemistry. A combination of biocide, surfactant and water-conditioner that clings to vertical surfaces and works at low pressure — ideal for render, roofs and uPVC.
Wood treatments. Wood-specific deck cleaners that remove grey weathering without damaging timber fibres, plus stains and oils for re-finishing.
All products we use are COSHH-documented and supplied with safety data sheets on request. We use the minimum effective dilution and rinse thoroughly to leave no harmful residue.
