Chimney exteriors gather more dirt than almost any other part of a property — soot deposits, atmospheric pollution, algae on the windward side, and the gradual greying that affects all exposed brickwork at height. We clean domestic and commercial chimneys safely, using cherry pickers, towers or rope access depending on the building.
Chimney cleaning is high-level work and we don't take it lightly — proper access equipment is non-negotiable. For most domestic chimneys we use a telescopic lance from the ground (reaches up to 12m) or a small tower for higher work. For commercial and listed buildings we use cherry pickers or scaffolding as needed.
Soft-washing with biocide is our usual approach — it kills the algae and lichen at the root and is gentle on old mortar joints. Where heavier soot deposits need lifting, we'll use targeted hot-water pressure washing with appropriate detergents.
We don't carry out chimney sweeping or pot replacement — for that you need a registered chimney sweep — but we can refer you to one if needed.
